I received the Waugh-Watkins scholarship in 2019. The scholarship covered my textbooks for the year. I have so, much appreciation to those of you who contributed. During my college experience I expanded my knowledge base, from local agriculture to regional business, and, becoming friends with a girl who went blind at 14. This in essence helped me increase my compassion towards others. Developing relationships within ASU's Multicultural Student Development Center also furthered my acceptance of a more diverse group within the population, which is what I encounter daily.
During my time at Appalachian State, the saying "It's who you know, not what you know " took on a very important sentiment. Now that I've been home for four years, I can confidently say that school isn't for everyone. But an education is essential , Secondly, discipline is also essential.
In 2024, I am currently moving forward within the content production industry as the owner of a home based business, AlexasBohoCuisines, where I sell sweets and I am available to do meal prepping. I hope to eventually own a food truck so that I may continue my endeavors towards financial freedom and service of others.
